Folks, I want to buy a new propogator and have about £50 to spend. It has to come from EBay as I can't get to big gardening places unless my son takes me as Phil had to give up driving due to the MS.

Does anybody know of a good one, or could somebody advise me of the key things I should look for please? I have one at the moment but it's small and only gets warm in the middle, so the stuff on the outer parts doesn't really grow as well, so I want to upgrade a bit to the type you guys would use.

    Thanks in advance folks x x x

I don't have one but I've heard good things about the Garland Super 7 window sill propagator. It's made up of seven separate mini dome props which means you can grow different plant varieties in one go in a window sill sized unit. It's good if you don't have a lot of space. Shop around though as I've seen it being sold for a wide variety of prices. You should get plenty of change from 50 quid! :blue thumb:

if you can get one that you can set the temp yourself is very useful rather than being pre set to one temp
I will have a nose for you see what we can all come up with but what Fern has suggested is very useful and handy to keep on the windowsill.

Hi there folks. I decided on the Garland propogator as I like the 7 separate sections! I was very lucky as some Ebayers were charging £49, but somebody was selling one for £20, it was an unwanted gift, so I nabbed that. Thanks so much for the advice. I shall report back when it arrives :)

Great choice Linda :dbgrtmb: Lots of us on here have the Super 7 , I was going to warn on the price variation £25 to £50 , but Ebay has come up trumps. You'll be amazed on how many plants you can grow in the little props. Dont over sow your seeds , and move the little prop off the heat when the majority of the seeds have germinated.
Just follow the seed sowing instructions and you will have lots off success and just a little disappointment now and then. First thing you notice is how quickly you run out of space ! Before the plants can be moved outside. They do tend to take over the house until May !

I've bought from both them and seekay horticultural supplies and both were good value for money.
