Forgotton about The Shadowline, it was very good.
As a variation on the TV cop theme loved Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes. Corny but really funny.

Me too. I especially liked Ashes To Ashes towards the end as it got a lot darker.

Just watched the last episode of The Casual Vacancy - very good series. Catch it on iPlayer before it disappears.

I've never watched or never heard of most of those programmes. :noidea:

The Missing, Broadchurch, Spiral, Wallander, Hinterland, Shadowline, Line of Duty, Wolf Hall, Peaky Blinders, Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes and Casual Vacancy all come into those categories.

Now, Woo's 1953 Coronation programme is a good one! :heehee: I remember seeing that sort of thing happening in real life :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

I tend to like cookery programmes (and, of course, gardening programmes - I see Gardeners' World is back tonight). Come Dine With Me is my fav. Also stand up comedy programmes (I used to do stand up).

Watched the 1st part of a 7 part drama series, 'Banished' on BBC2 last night. The language is a bit...gritty, but seems like it will be very good. There are plenty of nasty characters alongside those trying to just get along. It's based on a penal colony in Australia, good stuff! Link to more info.

I watched it too Freddy. As you say, a bit grizzly but it's history and no doubt a lot of it was the truth,
