You can take cuttings all year round Joolz but keep them indoors, they are houseplants and being figs they like heat. :)

I only said it might be a bit early because cutting root best when the plant they are taken from is growing, and I've found even house plants do follow the seasons to some extent, due to available light mainly.

They look beautiful if you give them a spray with a leaf shine, they will look like new plants. I would have taken one off your hands if I lived closer

I don't see why not but it'll make it difficult for watering.

Here is where mine stood at a north west window gaining afternoon and evening sun, it also hugged the radiator which had no effect on it when it was on. :)

Yep, it was close to 6ft when I ousted it. :)

The only way you'll be able to prune it without permanent mis-shape is to thin it out by taking branches off right back to the trunk and maybe take off a little of the top growth, but don't over do it or it will look horrible and doesn't generally recover it's shape. If you decide to prune it stick a small piece of kitchen roll on the stump until it stops bleeding or it will leak sap everywhere, it's very sticky and difficult to remove.

Selling them, particularly if you say the money will go to charity, is a good idea but it's not easy to find a buyer unless you have a lot of contacts. If you lived near me I could have sold them for you :noidea:.

If you can't keep them indoors then it's better to rehome them. Doctor's surgeries, dentists etc. are good places (anywhere with a waiting room). Or large companies with reception areas. :)
