Mine was a prolific flowerer, I think the 2 wheelbarrows of root confirmed this. :thud:
So glad it's gone, now other plants in that bed stand a chance.

No. They're self-seeded - thank you birds, I think the pheasants must have brought the seeds in on their feathers. It's against the law to dig the plants up and take them. The only care is that you mustn't use any chemicals near them. They're in a type of symbiotic relationship with a bacterium in the soil that is extremely sensitive to chemicals.

Unfortunately, the deer seem to have had a go at them this month .

Re a lift for Open Day. Nearer the time, when I know who's coming, I'll see if there's anyone near you. :blue thumb:

Can you invert them? They're probably flat underneath.

I spent most of the day working hard in the garden. Edging, weeding, three hours of mowing, two hours of pressure hosing the patio (including doing the bird feeder, stone bench and Rosemary) and then pressure hosing all of the front of the summerhouse (the wood was covered in mildew and dirt) and cleaned the four French doors and two glass panels on the front of it.

Will do some more pressure hosing if my back will take it :old:. Only about 30+ hours more needed to do.

How do I find post #726 please Sheal?
Also, don't make the mistake I did with begonias a couple of years ago. I put them in plastic window boxes and they looked lovely. However they grew and grew and grew and became so top heavy they fell off the window ledge :yikes: :heehee:

@philomel the post numbers are at the bottom right of each post (in the blue bar - well it's blue on my computer :heehee:).

You used to be able to set the number of posts you have per page but I think the default is 20. You can check that by counting how many you have on the page :blue thumb:.

So, if searching for a post number you know how many pages back it will be. 726 is higher up this page. :dbgrtmb:

I have my pot plants upturned on their bottom saucers (to safeguard against root contact with ground re. frost). I was thinking of reverting them to their normal position or is it still too early for this?

I pruned back the deadheads of the hydrangeas. I dislike leaving the dead brown flowerheads on it all winter but I understand that this is what is done.

I think I need to do that also. Mine are all about 8" tall now - and I thought it was because I was a very excellent gardener! :roflol:

Hi @Fern4 and @philomel hope you're both better today. X Sending get well hugs. I love Hibiscus, I have one in its third year, I'm hoping it will flower this year. I think they are so pretty. The Masonic Hall across the way from us has a really beautiful huge one which flowers every year and it's glorious x

Thanks Lynda. I'm getting there, but a few days more meds yet. Oooh fingers crossed for flowers on your Hibiscus. The ones I have got germinating are for an annual/short lived perennial with flowers that only last a day or less. I tried posting a link but it hasn't worked, but if you're interested google Hibiscus trionum :dbgrtmb:
