9:42am. Just past maximum here. My tomato and pepper seedlings have folded up their leaves for the night.

What an experience! I went to the beach for a walk and when I set off the sun was on my back and it was lovely and warm, 1 hour later the temp seriously dropped, the birds went quiet and I got fairly good glimpses between the clouds. This was taken on my phone as I didn't want to damage my good camera

@yvonne interesting the birds went quiet all the birds round here went louder and was more like the bird song you hear early in the morning

10:05 am. Much lighter now. Birds all singing again and temperature rising. Interesting to note that the temperature didn't start to rise again until about 20 minutes after maximum eclipse.

I thought it wasn't going to be visible but a put a camera and travel tripod in a bag and went for a walk and 2 minutes after leaving a small gap appeared in the clouds revealing the eclipse although before I could even get a point and shoot out my pocket it was behind clouds again so I thought that's it I've missed it.

Then 5 minutes later it cleared enough to watch the whole event!

I thought it was a big non-event, after all the hype.Went a bit gloomy like a normal overcast day.
