I think we are scared to admit we/you/our friends may vote UKIP. Not because of Farage et al, but because the papers and lying Condem/Labour/other has spouted that they are Homophobic racists, and they have nothing to offer. I fear the Labour/Conservatives/Libdems are quaking in their boots and will do whatever it takes to tarnish them.

I do wish that Britain could be British again and have a government that truly looks after us and our interests, instead of the lying, greedy, selfish, sanctimonial, self absorbed sods that have been in power in the past 20 odd years. Massive cover ups that have been part of the peadophile cases of late (Cyril Smith, MP's and a hell of a lot of the BBC), ridiculous and ludicrous expenses claims, The Iraq and Afghan War, The demise of the NHS, privatisation of once great institutions, VAT rises (remember, it went from 17.5% to 15% to help business and economy, then up to 20% which will never come down) looking after the lazy sods who can't be arsed to work because they "earn more" on the dole/scrounge. The list goes on, and they call this "progress".

    I despair.

If I ever voted UKIP I extend my permission to you all to put a bullet in my head.

Let's say 35 to 40 years shall we?

        Thatchers baby.

Now to be fair on this the UK VAT rate is one of the lowest in Europe. On top of that I think that there are only another one or two states that have 0% VAT on foodstuffs apart from the UK.

On a personal note...we have a girls who works for us. she has a decent wage, we pay her bonuses and can earn as much as she wants due to a commision tier. A few months ago, she told us she is pregnant. She will be working right upto her maternity (+ holidays) and we will pay her what she is due. She visited the local hospital to see if she could get help regarding a new house as she has paid her taxes/NI as she can only afford to rent. She got shown the door, as she is in full time employment, and even though maternity is 9 weeks at 90% and £138 per week thereafter for 37 odd weeks, she ill find it a struggle.

Her sister is also pregnant. Never worked, the father could be one of 3!!!, she enquired about a house, and got a new one; free, within 2 weeks, a loan for new baby stuff and got inundated with various packages. A free fridge freezer and money towards other equipment. Where the hell is the justice in that! you've got me started now, and i will find it hard to divert from the new shoots coming up from my Dahlias.... :snork:

Still lied. They said that the VAT lowered would help small business and the public alike. They did, for a mere second. Little did we know they would claw back the 2.5% deficit that they had given us, and continue to make 2.5% forever more. Thats a hell of a lot of money. Liars.

Gets me going too! I have a plan for this though - for every immigrant who comes here to work the "spongers lottery" picks a name out of the hat and we ship them out to where the immigrant came from. It would be unfair not to give them a tenner to start their new life with though!

roders you KNOW that I agree with you, but I'm afraid our Nigel is already doing U turns on his original policies :dunno: he now says that he will aim to give us a "better quality " immigrant system so the actual numbers may not drop at all. Incidentally on the news the other night they said that apparently there is another 100,000 on their way.:hate-shocked: NOBODY has got the guts to do anything about this!!

                  Ah, well................
Alistair Darling dropped it from 17.5% to 15% as an emergency measure but made it clear that it would return to 17.5% in a couple of years and he was good to his word. Before the 2010 election the tories said that they would not raise VAT and then duly did almost immediately after the election. So yes and no as it was two different governments.

So, there's 2 small lies amongst the hundreds that they make. At the cost of the working public and honest johns, Makes me laarf out loud it does.

I think it's only when we get older, we see things for what they truly are... A debautchery of minds, massive cover ups and pure greed. And with great sadness, i can see it going from worse to worser to worser....

It already is. My wife is Special Care Baby Unit /Midwifery, there is a private firm in place called one to one Midwifery. You have a choice which to for. If you choose private one to one, it's also free, but they bill the NHS for their time. Privatisation within the NHS IS costing the NHS already. Other departments will follow.

One thing that i do question, why not MAKE visitors/immigrants to this country take out separate insurance when visiting/residing temporarily for their healthcare, like we HAVE TO (even in EU countries) when we visit? It would stop billions of pounds of our/NHS money that are leached?

......and then we'll really suffer! My son lives in America, my daughter lives in Canada and I know how they suffer. The high cost of health insurance doesn't go anywhere near covering the cost of their medicine let alone hospitalisation and it's crippling all citizens that are on a middle or low wage!
