Oh that surprises me, @longk, it's something I thought you would like. I've been back to Avondale today and the friendly Brian told me all I needed to know. :)
Here's a couple of pics from dusk tonight.

And my efforts from yesterday, this was previously just a pile of bricks, roots, weeds and soil.

I've planted it up with some papaver and quick spreading geranium for now.

I do but seed can take three years or more to germinate so I have not got around to it yet.

Here's an update, can't believe how much the garden has changed in the last month.
      image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg
And finally, my new raised bed! This area started as a pile of grass cuttings, bbq ashes, rubble, weeds and discarded soil from digging the greenhouse base. There was an ancient buddlia which I have moved and some nettles for good measure. The other half designed the bed, I painted it and yesterday we got it in place. I then did removing weeds/rocks, backfilling, digging in manure and levelling. I've planned out the planting and am going to plant it up this afternoon. I'm so lucky, I've had a shed, GH and now a new raised bed all in the last year!

The area in front is going to be a cobblestone path eventually, not sure how to finish the area to the right, between the bed and the pamphas grass.

Hi Charlie, what a beautiful garden. I especially like the transformation of the border (the one with stepping stones). What a difference!

In the second photo of your post I've quoted, you show a white flower and a pink flower with furled petals. What are they called, please? I think they're lovely.

Thank you for your kind comments @Anzia. I love getting feedback as I've only been gardening a year or so.
The ones you ask after are cactus dahlias. I think the White one is called 'my love'.

A year?! Consider me doubly impressed. And hopeful, because I've always assumed you had to grow up with gardening, or study it for years, to get really nice results. I'm starting to see how wrong that idea was. Thanks for the plant name!

Nice! Though I imagine your little helper was about as much use as my two are :D
