Anyone have any ideas of plants i can have in containers in a shady corner of the garden? I only get an hours direct sunlight in that area a day. I was thinking of a Fatsia Japonica? Anyone have more suggestions? Thanks!

Fatsia will be fine in a shadey spot . Skimmia is good , also Fuschias and possibly begonias .
I'll watch this thread as I need a few ideas for shade loving perennials.

Hostas, ferns, bleeding heart ... roughly, which time of the day are you blessed with one hour of sunshine? (Morning? Mid day? Afternoon? Evening?)

I know @Fern4 not only also has a shady garden, but grows in containers so I'm sure she will have lots of ideas for you

If you do searches here, you will find the topic of Shade planting often discussed. Just saying.

Camelias can do well in shade as long as the hour of sunlight isn't in the morning. Good in large containers because you can also control the acidity and the watering.

Damn, lol! I only had one to contribute, but @philomel pipped me to the post. But I do know the new name is Solestemon (or something a bit like that!) they are so easy to grow and some lovely colours.

There is just a short list shade plants that work. the list hardly changes. I am a shade gardener, so I am referring to the prior list I entered in another thread of the same topic.
