I took advantage of the slightly warmer day and Sunshine today to move Rose "Generous Gardener" from the area where the concrete base will be and transferred it into the walk around border next the Roses "Crazy for You", "Trumpeter", and "Orange and Lemon". Then I planted a Schizostylis, several Irises, a Leycestria formosa [Pheasant Berry}, a Clematis under the Acer Brilliantissimum where the Clematis Armandii is already growing through and flowering, a Dicentra spectabilis in the lawn border. After a mug of tea in the still fairly warm sunshine I emptied 9 18" pots of Dahlias, sorted the Dahlias out, replaced the compost and replanted the Dahlias.........that was enough for the day.:coffee::snork:

Planted two roses that have been sitting in pots since last spring. a ballerina to go on the top of a steep bank, and ...err....can't remember the name of the other one!

...I would go out and check the name-tag, but they are being nicely watered in at the moment, and it looks set in for the night. Good job, really, as the ground is really dry here!

Popped a few more seeds in the garden as per my "direct sowing" experiment. Not much to boast about ... but, maybe I will be boasting when they are all in bloom :heehee:

I pottered around the garden today doing a bit of "this and that" but found my gaze kept drifting in the direction of the Green House. I've left it with the 15 buckets of old Tomato plants over the Winter as I don't use it until Spring. So I took out the buckets complete with dried straw like Tomato plants, pulled out the plants and dumped them onto the ever rising Compost Heap [I'm sure there are clouds around the summit:hate-shocked::heehee:], and then emptied the 15 buckets of used compost on to the different borders ready for the Summer. I do that every Spring and the soil, although it's light and sandy, just gets better and better. The Sun was really warm by then so it was another mug of tea and a contemplation of the garden followed by an amble around to see what was doing what. Tomorrow I will sweep out the Green House completely, get the hand pump pressure sprayer out filled with Jeyes Fluid and spray the Green House inside and out to get it ready for hardening off this years seedlings.:coffee::snork:
