@Lolimac the Aldi thing is hilarious, I wasnt going in there, I didn't want to, nor could I deal with stuff all piled up everywhere, I was so cross when I heard we were getting an Aldi in our local town, however my friend bought some primrose's (4 for £1.99) & they were fantastic so I thought I'd have a look, since then I've brought all sorts of plants! The seeds are 39p per pack (not loads of seeds) but enough, the roses @ £1.89 each are really good, fruit bushes £2.99 strawberry plants £2.99 for 6 & various bulbs/tublers 99p. Water butts £28.99, cloaches £5.99, it's well worth a look, I'd say go with an open mind & just have a look. A few weeks ago they had bedding plants , they are all doing really well in my front porch, the prennuals I bought are all in the flower beds & doing well. I hope you go for a look & please let us know how you get on :dbgrtmb:

      Aloha everyone,

It's still pitch black out there but some of the birds are singing . They must have night vision goggles.

I got some more weeding done and did another 50ft of edging. Also got a wheelie bin full off moss out of the flower beds. Still loads more to go.

The forecast is sunny today so I hope to get more done. Mrs Shiney has been potting up plants for sale. She's just done loads of grasses (can't remember the variety but don't think I had better ask her just now :heehee:).

I'll have to go off to Wickes today, on my way to shopping, and get another four bags of compost. We're using four bags a week at the moment!

All the best to those of you that are still under the weather. :grphg:

Keep well and have a great day

      Aloha!

        Good morning everyone,

Hope everyone is OK this morning:thumbsup:

Shiney..I see you were up with the lark,I do like early mornings though don't you?..the birds are singing away here but it is getting much lighter now.I've noticed for a few days a little Robin who sits on the same perch every morning singing away then at dusk he's there again.

            Good, late, morning :heehee:

It's almost 7 a.m. and the sun is shining brightly, but not quite enough to get rid of the frost. All the pheasants are wandering around with their wings puffed up. :)

Loli, I was up at 2.30 a.m. (had a good snooze from 12.30) and have read a book this morning. 'The Railway Detective' by Edward Marston, set in 1851. He writes good historical mystery stories set in different periods.

Woo, I hope you're feeling better.

Moyra, take things easy. Don't do much walking until your foot improves.

            Aloha!

              Good morning one and all.
Bright, albeit and very chilly start to the day. Quite a frost for us last night. I do not think I shall be out in the garden too early today.:sofa:

Hope you all a good day, don't overdo it digging.

Good morning all, I hope everyone's ok.
My hens were shouting to be let out at 5.30 this morning! They all dashed out of the coops & rushed to the back door! I'd got a bit of corn in my hand so managed to distract them with that!
Chilly & frosty start here but it's lovely & bright, most of the frost has cleared, just the shady areas remaining frosty.
The wild birds are busy flying from one bird feeder to another, they know where to come for a tasty snack!
@Lolimac, I love the photo of your Robin, I bet his bird song is beautiful :dbgrtmb:
@shiney sounds like you are making good progress in the garden, :wow: 4 bags of compost a week is it all being used for potting up?
@wiseowl i hope you are feeling much better today.
I hope everyone has a good day in the garden, happy digging folks :dbgrtmb:

Good morning folks - hope we are all either well or on the mend today? Sunny here in Medway, not too sure of temperature out there yet, Baldrick has been running about the garden telling everybody he's up and about, I'm still nursing coffee!

@Lolimac I second every word @Beckie76 has said about Aldi. Including how I felt when it first arrived! Plants are fantastic, this week they have 10 different types of veg plugs, and have also had trailing plants and basket plants, bedding and all the other stuff Beckie listed - your best day is ALWAYS a Thursday though when the new little tiny greenhouses are all stacked up with their treasures! Please, please, just go once, then you can join Beckie and I in the fan club!

@Beckie76 one more sleep now - I will have to sedate myself tonight! Not sure where I'm gonna put this weeks haul, but that won't stop me! Also, have tried their compost, £1.99 for 40 litres and it seems totally fine.

                    Have a good day all x x x

                      Morning all

Blimmin freezing cold this morning. Got another little bit more weeding done out the front then the rain arrived and stopped proceedings

Right, that's it, I am storming down to our local Aldi and demanding in my best Franglais that they start stocking the bargain plants that you lot get :heehee:

Get well soon thoughts to all who need them

                      Have a great day everyone

:partytime: It's a lovely day in Scotland. Not even a hint of rain and saying nowt about the early frost. Weeds are on the agenda and cutting back some perennials. May do it all without 25 layers of clothes yeah

@LyndaG, I thought of you this morning, Martin Lewis moneysaving expert email came this morning if you buy the daily mirror tomorrow for 55p there's a voucher in there for £5 off a £40 shop @ Aldi....now that's a lot of plant shopping I know but throw in a bottle of wine or two & some bits & bobs you have a saving! Just thought I'd tell you!
I'm very excited, one more sleep! I've put an old table together in the spare bedroom to make room :heehee:. Someone told me last year they had clematis plants for sale...I'm hoping they have those again this year!
Now going to check the Aldi app for next weeks plants!!! :loll:Xx

Hello everyone, did you miss me? I have been without the internet since yesterday morning some local network problem with Virgin, not before me and one of their engineers turned my pc upside down and inside out. In the end I said to him well either it is your hub or your system because my laptop doesn't work on the system either. So he booked me in for someone to come and look at the hub on Thursday and then later text me to say it was a network problem in the area and nothing to do with my set up! I have learned I can buy air time off BT hot spot for my lap top if this happens again in future but what methods do others use for their laptops when away from home?

Shiney, hope you haven't been overdoing things. You too Loli because I know what you can be like once you get going! and WOO my dear friend I am sorry you are not up to 100% lately! Do get well soon. You other lasses enjoy your Aldi plundering on a Thursday!
Have a good day all, God bless. :wub2:

OOOOh, nobody has been back! I have been surfing the web this afternoon to see if I can find a decent dongle to allow me to get out on the internet with my lap top when Virgin let me down.

I might try and get Steve out to Home Base or B and Q to see if we can buy a new Gazebo. Our one we have up has been nursed for ages it really needs replacing now. Cannot imagine not having one to shade the lounge through the summer months and to dry the washing under in the inclement weather.

I hope all the poorlies on here are feeling much better. Lili, I do hope your Freddie is ok and carrying on with his problems bless him. WOO, wish you much better my dear. I am pulling the plug on here now, it is lovely to have it back and working well. Night night all,
                              God bless. :wub2:
