    Hi Ian

    I have planted mine in large terracotta pots John innes no 2 , but if planting in the border soil , 6 inches/15.24 cm deep well drained soil in full sun and no other plants crowding/shading them out is best . If not planting now keep in a cool dark place , should be fine for a little while

      I bought some too. From the picture they could be anything from the pure species to one of the cultivars, but at that price I couldn't say no. I reckon that they're a year away from flowering though, so maybe it would be best to grow them in a large pot?

        I started some more Sparkling Burgundy off a couple of weeks ago. Today I knocked the pot and one cutting toppled over. Here's a photo of the new growth starting on the bottom of the leaf........................

                @longk

                I coudnt wait till the weekend all the cuttings look fine no rotting of leaves and still look fresh and robust.
                I only gave the one watering and I will leave at that the plastic over the top will keep the moisture in.

                  A photo of some of the leaf cuttings today...................
                  [IMG]

                  The leaf cuttings were started off last August. Over the winter they just sort of stand still but over the last couple of weeks thay have really started to grow.

                    it was a mix of john inns no 1 and 50 % grit and grit covering the top , I have just been and checked the greenhouse and I have green shoots coming up , so its worked

                    thanks Longk for the advice , so glad I made the effort
