One here :) but I do prefer the smaller plants that don't need to staked like
the Bishop series and the smaller Pom Pom :)

Not a fanatic as such, but I do like them, quite a bit ;) Great in the border, and great for cutting. What's not to like!

Same as Freddy not a fanatic but they are a lovely late flower. I grew D. Bishops children from seed last year and saved the tubers . I am growing these this year ,Dahlia cactus Procyon, a tallish 3ft plus type. Going to plant 5 in a group. (Wilko tubers £1 each ! )
@honeybunny , about now is a good time to plant dahlia tubers. Now these tubers do look like a set of bagpipes and look a tad daunting to plant. I think I put this YouTube vid on last year , its very posh Sarah Raven in her posh poly tunnel  Very good how to video.

Not a Dahlia fanatic (in fact I don't really like Dahlia) but it is good to see the makings of someone who may start a collection off of a single genus. Is that a possibility @JackJJW ?

I hope so, I really love them for some reason, at least, some that I think 'look' more contemporary.

It's as yet unproven if my garden and I can actually grow them yet as I've never had the chance, but I do have a lot on order.

I'm umming and ahing about trying to squeeze in a few more as the specialists close their catalogues today.

I'm glad I'm not the only one then :) It's great to see so many other people who like Dahlias. I have about 20 different types on order for this year. Not sure how they will all fit in, or grow as we don't have the sunniest of gardens. But I really love them so I'm going to give it a go and will report back once they arrive in May.

                        That's v.cool :)

I do like them to begin with but they quickly look a mess if you get a rainy spell, especially the ones I have which have quite large, heavy flower heads. I bought and planted them before I really knew what I was doing (like a lot of things in my garden!) and they need a lot of staking and deadheading. And despite all the advice to lift and store them each winter I never do and they still come back year after year, heavier than ever. (And also, despite what I've just said, I've bought quite a few more for the front garden - I'm my own worst enemy :heehee:)

I tried growing them but killed all but 2. Have planted them up and will try to take cuttings for the first time. Mine are Kelvin Floodlight I think, huge and bright yellow.

Here are a few of mine from last year, hope you like them. I have tried to save them and got another 10 or so different tubers and some pom poms from seed to add.
