I agree with "M" Martin, my reasoning being it will eventually discolour from the water anyway, believe me as soon as mine is filled up the starlings come and splash it all out, it would be endless trying to keep it looking pristine. Just let it gain a natural weathered look. :)

Many thanks, it was installed half hour after my post :), I decided to leave it with its years of distress, its not a new one :blue thumb:, I put it on a slab marked round it and removed the grass and fitted the slab flush with the lawn so cutting the lawn would be easy, I am going to put a border round, it will make a nice feature,

The rain prevented me doing the border:frown:, this is how it looks at the moment, to be continued :),

Distressed is natural, that's good! Mine looks very distressed, it's had a crack in it for the last four years and is now starting to grow small stalactites. :)

It's an attractive bath you have Martin, I bet it weighs a bit! You've also placed it well, so that birds may spot any preditors coming there way.

Another job for later today, I bought this to tidy the messy string up to the left, the hedge in the middle was from the front garden, I wasn't expecting it to grow after moving it but its showing signs of new growth :),

Blimey its blowing a gale atm :frown:

Yes its very heavy Sheal but it is in two parts, well 3 parts with the little bird, this one is cracked and dripping very slightly, I will repair it when we have a nice day:),

Many thanks, I think I need to move the feeders and bird table for the reason above, not much happening with them in this position.

Getting weeds out of the lawn is the task I will probably do tomorrow.

Since moving from my parents', I feel the grass is what's taken the biggest hit in the last 14 months in the garden..

Pruned the Hydrangea and potted up 8 Begonias that can sit in the conservatory until later. It's now very wild and windy out there.

Yes, it's looking good NCF and when the bamboo gets up to height it will give you some good screening. :dbgrtmb:

. Dug up a large clump and divided pieces into 7 smaller pots to grow on and replanted the remainder in another area of the border. I love it - truly glows with a thundery grey sky as a backdrop.
Then, planted up babies of Campanula "Elizabeth " that have strayed away from their Mum. They will grow on and flower this Season. Love the dusky pink form of this:

The concrete posts arnt facing the right way because thats how they are on the rest of the fence for some reason so we went for uniformity instead of the logical way to do it

This morning I had the depressing job of rescuing all the seedlings that took off down the garden in the night. Managed to salvage some but maybe 1/2 of the ones I had outside under cloches/bubble wrap have disappeared. Thankfully they were perennials rather than my veg so not all is lost. The coldframe I had to get yesterday worked a treat although there was a bit of rain leakage. Nothing too bad though.
My main jobs so far today have been up the allotment, but I've also had to try and tackle the raging mud bath in the chicken run. I've put down wood chips and then put cardboard over to try and dry it out. Need to also look at moving the even-more-battered greenhouse and relocate the coldframe to a sunny spot now.

A bit of a change of plan, I decided to make the fence higher for more privacy first, I just need to pop out and get some tie wraps to fix it in a moment.
