It's very gloomy and it's the same everyday or so it seems. I hope things buck up in April because a nice run of sunny days would certainly lift the spirits.
My other half told me about this Harry. They probably hadn't got a clue where the anthem was from, let alone the British knowing. Winter's back here today, sunshine, wind and sleet/rain/hail/snow showers!
We have had it all in the Vale today. Sunny and windy start. Then it greyed over with wind. Then came the hail and snow and wind. At the moment it's sunny, with the wind. Cant figure it at all. And it's 6.1 C.
We turned our heating virtually off and heated the house by burning some of our pallet stockpile for 3 months, the indoor propagators and grow lights helped raise the temps a bit, so did the exothermic action of the yeast in my homebrew fermenters. Indoor lights, heated (as from about a week or so ago) greenhouse and (unheated) polytunnels (23 deg C in there the other day) has meant 2015 gardening began on Xmas Day 2014. It's all kept me so busy over winter that I've completely forgotten about the normal winter gloom.
They actually said on the local news tonight that March had been sunnier than normal around here, not sure where they was basing it on. Probably the tropical part of Gravesend about two foot away from their dodgy thermometer.
We have had several nights of -4c this Winter which have damaged quite a few plants here, unlike last year. This Winter and Spring have not been very sunny either, I'm still waiting for a warm sunny day, not just the odd hour.
