Very high winds, hail, showers, brilliant sunshine. When the terrain is flat as a pancake and fairly treeless the wind gets every opportunity to get nasty, was almost blown off the road driving to have a swim this lunchtime.
Supposed to ease up this evening, but still a stiff wind tomorrow.

Mainly sunny but with a good deal of other weather thrown in.....literally! The passing showers have been terrible, rain, hail and snow driven on a gale force wind. I had to leave the greenhouse each time a shower came over as it was a bit risky being in there!

Horrible 7 hour journey back from Birkenhead in rain, hail and gale force winds.
        It's still blowing here!

When the winds come in from West Norwest I can hear it rattle things on the roof and when it gets really wild it makes a sound of loud rumbling instead of the usual whistling or muted howls. Well, last night it really rumbled:hate-shocked:, it's not a bad sound but you get the impression of a powerful force out there that makes you glad you're indoors. So I lay in bed, nice and warm, and spent a portion of the night just listening to the rumbling as it reached a peak, died away and started again. A look around the garden this morning showed no damage to anything but the winds were still blowing. So this morning was one of periods of sunshine and then really hard, intense showers. By the afternoon the winds were still as strong as ever but it stopped showering and got drier and the temperature stayed in the middle 40f's. Tonight the temperature is 40f and the pressure reading is 1028mbs.:coffee::snork:

Chilly nights with the odd light frost but pleasant dry, sunny days are forecast. I've been watching the UK weather reports, especially for north west England where my parents are. :ouch1: Hang on in there folks! I just hope it isn't heading on down to us, although it seems to be moving east.

I have this theory, that @wiseowl gets the best of the weather because he is the only one that doesn't complain when it's bad! Perhaps the rest of us should change our attitude towards it.

Today started dull and then went quickly downhill, it's not stopped raining since early afternoon but at least the wind has eased now, 7C. :doh:Hopefully back into double figures by the weekend and looking brighter, it's still pretty cold overnight here though.

Yesterday started off sunny but quite windy and continued like that all day . Fairly mild if in the sun and out of the worst of the wind, but pretty chilly in the wind.

Rain in the evening and overnight, still windy, but the sun is trying to fight the clouds.
