I bought a Hebe last spring and it started to flower in autumn. It has flowered all winter and is continuing to at present. Is this normal?

Yeah it happened with mine 2 years ago. This year the amount of snow has all the leaves bending the wrong way. I'm leaving it as the heat may set it right. Enjoy.

A Hebe will flower all year round if the conditions are mild. :)

That depends on many factors. For example, if you are located in the arctic, then the answer would be no; absolutely not "normal"!
          Where are you located?
"Normal" is quite a subjective term ;)

I really like hebes. I've got one that always has some flowers on it although it does have less flowers in winter. I don't know if it's normal - I just enjoy it! :)

              Thanks guys.
I'm in Edinburgh, not too far from the Arctic! Relatively mild winter here I suppose.
I will enjoy it whilst it lasts.

What part of Edinburgh are you in @c3k? Some parts are nice and sheltered, whereas others are really quite exposed and that too will make a difference.

Not a million miles away from my old stomping ground - my mum lives in Wallyford, and I lived in Mussy High Street for a while (just along from the Brunton Hall); you are a wee bit exposed there though, with the wind coming in off the Forth - not the easiest gardening climate.

I'm in Springfield next to shotts Kirk the m8 church so about 30 miles give or take. If you are arctic I'm the north pole. Your dog leaves nothing to the imagination ;-) I'd recognise him anywhere lol. like the hebe more than the crown jewels, lovely plant.
