2015 Tomato Growing

How dare you go away enjoying yourself when there's seedlings to keep an eye on

 

Still tiny, but now with tomatoes

That reminds me, I must sow some seeds I saved from this tomato

 

Now *that* is a weird looking Tom and no mistake Never seen anything like that before - well done (?) for growing such a specimen

Yes, that does look slightly dodgy, Scrungee.

Not in Scrungee's league, but I've got my first flower out on my (sunlight powered) tomatoes. It's a variety called Bloody Butcher, which I tried last year. It's very fast growing and salad sized but quick to mature.

 

I know I said I was delaying sowing my tomato seed this year but I didn't expect to be this late!

Big Boy
Big Zak
Harbinger

 

I sowed a few more Sungold and Suncherry today as the first lot did not germinate,

Sowed a few Harbinger yesterday which I found in my seed box. If these don't germinate then I'll get some Sungold when I go to the UK in a couple of weeks - haven't found them over here yet

 

Sungold are the best Tomatoes - In the world! (he said in one of those dramatic voices you hear when they advertise the latest box-office smash )

 

Well I'll get them then whatever germinates that I've already planted. Can't miss out on the Best Tomatoes in the Whole Wide World! (But will still need to wait for a couple of weeks as I can't find them locally)

 

They'd better be Freddy! I'm growing them for the first time this year!

 

The plants are currently two inches tall and looking healthy. Keep that sofa handy for later in the year, you may or may not need it.
