    Morning all

Sunny this morning. I've got a touch of hayfever, first time this year. Taken a couple of anti-histamines so will still hopefully get loads done in the garden today

Glad to see you back Shiney. Hope your leg continues to improve, though it doesn't seem to be holding you back

What made your landlady change her view of Amber Moyra? From everything I've read about her she sounds a lovely gentle dog

Enjoy your evening with the Boy Zigs

Would a couple of clematis pull down a fence Beckie? It would have to be very flimsy to do that I would think. The majority of people who buy them tend to grow them up fences to add a bit of colour and I don't remember reading about an epidemic of falling down fences :heehee: I'd plant them there if I were you

Hope you're beginning to feel a bit better Woo. Your sunrise pics always cheer me up

Love hearing about the antics of the Girls Loli. They really are cheeky little madams

Have a great day everyone, hope you all get to enjoy the sunshine

:ThankYou: @lost_in_france, you are quite right, I'm going to plant the clematis against the fence! :dbgrtmb: Xx

Do you have a tree for it to climb up?

Only my pear tree? Would it be ok for it to climb up that @shiney I was told not to plant anything to close to my pear tree as they don't like their roots disturbed???

Oh Eve, it wasn't particularly Amber. She had agreed to my having Chloe a golden lab and had written it into the lease that I was allowed to have a dog. When Chloe demised after 13 years I waited 10 months then decided to buy Amber. Apparently I should have sort the landlady's approval before getting her even though it was in the lease. In the meantime the carpet which was over 20 years old became a problem and we sort her approval to dispose of it. There was an old scotchguard carpet below it which was there when the flats were built early 80s. She said because we had got another dog without her approval she was not going to replace the carpet so we have been living with this old disintegrating carpet ever since. It is very dusty and is falling apart every time I vacuum it. But what can I do? We redecorated throughout and she wouldn't contribute. I had new heating put in because of my age and disability with no charge to her and she still wouldn't contribute, in fact put the rent up! I cannot complain because the rent is reasonable considering the prices they are charging elsewhere. But only because we have done so much to preserve the property. We have put up with water ingress into the back bedroom for most of the 17+ years we have been here. Think it is resolved at last. I would just love to get away from here.

I don't think it would harm the tree but it would get in the way of your pears. So not a good idea.

Oh Moyra that sounds so unfair. I guess you're not eligible for a housing association or council place? And Beckie's right, she should be bloomin grateful she's had such a wonderful tenant all those years.

                Aloha everyone,

The sun's coming out to play

Loli, I wish you lots better :grphg:

Not much gardening will get done today. We shall be popping out this morning to buy some trellis and, hopefully, pick up some herb plants (if they're cheap enough, to make up herb bowls for sale on Open Day.

We've been invited to my sister today to dinner and supper and a few cousins will be there as well. Our family is lucky to have always remained in touch with each other. My father was one of ten children (typical East End family) and they remained in touch all their lives. So we used to see our cousins frequently. Although we have dispersed around the country, and abroad, we keep in touch and see each other quite often - compared to a lot of families.

Our generation is getting older now but I can't see the next generation keeping as close. I'll be seeing about fourteen of the cousins next week when we have a tour of the Tate Britain led by a cousin who is an art historian.

We always have about a dozen turn up on Open Day as well. With a bit of luck one of our cousins, who is 95, hopes to get over from the U.S. for it as well. He's not sure whether he can make it as he's still working :old: :love30:. He heads a scientific research team at a university out there!

It's taken quite a while to type this as I keep getting distracted. A robin is building his nest in the ivy outside my office window :wub2:

                Have a great day

                Aloha!

Good morning everyone, looks like it is going to be a nice day out there again and what's this we are to have a 3 month heat wave. Could do with some heat to warm my poor old bones.
Amber's moaning wants to go walks so better get my skates on.

                    Have a good day all,
                    God bless. :wub2:

Good morning my dear forum friends.
Chilly start here, frost over night, I had to clear the frost off the car first thing, lovely bright sunny day here now, shame I have to work, it doesn't make it any easier that I have a tricky day ahead of me, best I put my best foot forward & get on with it.....things are never as bad as they first seem!
@wiseowl, I hope all is well with you & Mrs Woo?
@shiney, I hope you have a lovely day, it's always nice to meet up with family & so lovely that you've all managed to keep in touch. I hope your new resident robin will be very happy in his new home!
@Lolimac i hope that cold soon goes, there seems to be so many colds around this year.
@moyra, I'm really disappointed in your landlady, she should be ashamed of herself, it sounds to me like you have done her several favours, as for putting up the rent after you've put the heating in, that's awful. There are so many 'Sharks' in the rental game, we've heard so many horror stories of how tenants have been treated, landlords don't seem to be able to get in some of their heads that properties need to be kept up to date & not all the rental income is for them it's also there to fix/replace things!
I had a lovely day in the garden yesterday evening, I've planted up my two clematis, one at the front against the fence & one in the back garden to grow up my plant frame, I've also planted some more lupins, delphinium & cowslips. I'm going to wait a few more days/weeks before I plant up my daliah's, just incase we have more frosts.
Enjoy your day everyone & look forward to catching up later on.
