Oooo that does sound dangerous! When we ran a cable underground in the old UK garden, it was armoured cable and I laid a run of old, solid tiles over it so it couldn't be accidentally damaged. Thank goodness you've found out before anything nasty happened! Your annuals will be raring to go once it's sorted. It's only just into April......:)

Yes Noisette, you would have thought armour would have been used here, it didn't occur to me to check on that.

We've been told it's another month before the pole is removed and with this hold up likely to be longer. I started a lot of my seeds up to two weeks earlier this year , I just hope the weather doesn't heat up to quickly and promote to much growth.

Wow @TurnedThespian , I love that front garden! Are those bricks individually laid or are they special slabs? It's inspring!
Here's a few from this week, I must get my proper camera out soon as iphone is rubbish.

Does anyone know what the pink shrub in the foreground is?

This the bed where my Delphs are now planted. The bees love the ribes.
A year ago the whole area (except the ribes) was nettles and an ivy covered tree stump. I'm a bit sad as OH snapped a big branch off the rhodo today. He was bending it and I said stop but he didn't. Tried some cuttings though.

Aww, thank you!! :-) I am pretty pleased with it myself.
The bricks leading to the front door are individually laid. They were leftovers after we had built the garden wall (all reclaimed bricks) so we utilised them to make the path to the door.

                        Vestia foetida..................

It's a shrub from Chile that grows up to a height of 2.5 metres - from seed about a year ago mine now stand at 110cm and have shown a fair bit of hardiness for what were just first year seedlings..................

Erythronium "Kondo". The flowers are similar to "Pagoda" but the foliage has darker markings..............
