Just wondered if anyone knows why the ends of the grass blades are stringey? And how to fix it?

    Thanks
    Steve

I had this problem last year. The heat was too much for the grass and surprisingly the roots to handle. I would try some lawn feed. if it does not pick up i would cut it and place some new seed down.

Its definitely a bad mower, you can see where its shredded the grass but not cut it cleanly.

Maybe you have coarse grass, but a good mower would still cut it clean.

      Is it electric?

Yes its electric, i had a great looking lawn in last house and only since we have moved had this problem. I've tried sharpening the blade but that made no difference so i brought a new blade and that made no difference

Well it looks a bit long to me.

Electric mowers are ok for a light trim, but I cant help thinking you need something with a bit more oooommpfff.
