Went out to get an evergreen honeysuckle, and instead came back with these!

Last autumn we tried the yellow pear cherry tomatoes, and they were delicious, so hubby had to have a couple of plants.

Does anyone know where we might get the seeds? How they could be grown outdoors? Do the plants really grow to 12foot high?

I've already potted them on, and hope I will be able to do justice to such a lovely plant....

Sian, there doesn't seem to be any British sites with information about these tomatoes but it does look like you could pick up seed from Ebay on your side of the water. :)

I'm just wondering where everything is going to go - definitely time to start offering plant-swaps!

I already had 33 tomato plants. I pointed this fact out to hubby when he called me over to see the yellow pears - the look on his face melted my heart, so I joined the 15 minute queue to buy them....

So if anyone wants Harbinger, gardeners delight, or tumbling toms, and is in the vicinity of Brussels.... :spinning:

If everything goes as it should this may be the best £4 I've ever spent.
The Gloriosa and Polianthes bulbs were £1 each from Poundland, just caught a nice fresh delivery.
The Suttons seeds (all in date till 6/2016), were just 25p a packet off a stall that sells everything in our shopping centre. There are two basic types of tomato plant. Determinate and indeterminate. Determinate are the bush variety and are self-restricting on height but grow bushy. Indeterminate (most of the varieties for sale) can continue growing until you nip out the growing tip.

Professional hot houses that grow indeterminate grow them taller than 12ft. :)

I've got a Green Man version of your gnome pot.
First plant I grew in it was a fern and it looked really funky.
This year, I've put some angelica shoots into it ... I know the angelica will soon grow to big thick stalks with mahoosive pompom shaped heads and I think that is going to look spookily abstract enough to give me a chuckle :heehee:

How about a miniature bamboo? Or a pretty grass? It would be cute to see your gnomes "hair" fluttering in the breeze.

I have just got a Pennisetum and was thinking about putting that in his head but I'm not sure if it will be/get too big?
