Tree ID please

    My friend would like to know what this tree is, if possible. Not the best pics but it's in a corner garden by a busy road so not ideal for stopping to take them!

    It's not too clear from the pics but the overall shape is a deep umbrella type. I'd say it's around the 15ft tall mark. tree.jpg tree1.jpg How much of that is by design I don't know - this is not her tree, it's one we see in passing quite a bit. I can't comment on flowers as we've not noticed it before it became resplendent with catkins!

      Hi Spruce, to be honest that is definitely not a good pic to identify something from!!:dunno::doh::heehee: But if your friend's "tree" looks like this one in my garden then Bilbo is right, it's Garrya Elliptica "James Roof.:coffee::snork:
