Not me Jenny ... that charger is still lurking in a hidden domain somewhere ... I'm using a really cheap one at the moment and the zoom isn't too great, but does a passing job

 

Can you grow the snakesheads in large containers ? I used to have them when we had a garden and loved them.

 

Yep mine are they are in with a buddleia and have been for two years

 

Thanks Dips, that's the sort of thing I was thinking of, only mine will be under an Acer.

 

I have a small, narrow border in front of the greenhouse which I plant up every autumn with wallflowers, they seem to like it there and always put on a decent show in the spring.

After they'd finished flowering last year I was about to pull them out as usual, but the plants looked so lush and healthy I thought I'd experiment with just cutting them back instead and leaving them to grow for another year, treating them as a perennial rather than a biennial.

They've rewarded me by putting on a lovely display this year and the scent from those massed blooms is simply wonderful.

Yes. Add a reasonable amount of sand and lay them on their sides.

 

Why the sand? For drainage?

I thought they were the one bulb that didn't mind being damp and can cope with wet

 

Not so well when they're dormant though.
