Where you are going to recondition the border where your Rhododendrons are are you going to put some ericaceous compost in for them?:blue thumb:

Yep very good point Loli and will be doing that at some point. My "to do" list just gets longer with every little project I start or finish haha :)

It's actually now up Charlie. I just haven't had time to video it yet, but this weekend will try to post an update. looks a bit wonky but will hold the camera at an angle to compensate :)

Thanks Sheal. Wish I could take a week off and really blitz it but I get the feeling that would still leave a lot on the "to do" list!!

Being a gardener is like being an artist, the work of art you are producing is never finished, there's always something you can add to it. There will be a time though when all you have to do is 'tweak'. :)

Yep that's the intention :) I have quite a lot ready to go out in terms of chrysthanths, zinnia etc. Just picking the day now. Doesn't feel like there are any frosts to come but have not taken the plunge just yet whilst there are other things to get done out there.

You may have seen the last of the frost down south but up here we've had a ground frost for the last three mornings. We're not out of the woods yet! :)

It is a cruel world Sheal!! I remember when I was first gardening was during a three year spell in Scotland. When the brief summer was over and I had eeked out every spare piece of sunshine value from my little garden, I would come home to London, look at my Dad relaxing in shirt sleeves with a glass of cold beer in his green rampant garden and get a real north-south divide feeling.

I know the feeling, I was reared in Essex and think the same when I go back for a visit. On the plus side living up here, the only garden pests I have to worry about are slugs and snails. I've never seen a vine weevil in the 23 years I've lived here, that may change this year though, there's already a lot of bugs about as it's been warm and dry so far this spring.
