    Swallows and House Martins coming in off the sea but not in big numbers. Most Sand Martins have already arrived and Swifts apart from the odd early one won't be here for a couple of weeks yet.
    Heard my first Cuckoo yesterday.

    Seen and heard, a male Blackcap in full song, as loud as a Blackbird.

            there is a lovely tiny tiny blue butterfly flying around today. I haven't got the patience to try and get a pic but its really pretty.

                    I don't think so Jenny, i've been watering that part of the hedge as it was doing very well, i didn't even know there was a nest there untill i met Mr Blackbird coming out today

                        Something I have recently found out about Blackbirds is that the parents split looking after the brood. As they have possibly several broods the female looks after the smaller number so that she can mate and have another clutch fairly quickly. The male hasn't got that problem so he can look after the larger number. This is why even though they may have 4/5 young, you never see the young all at once.
