I've just heard that bike numbers are up for this years TT visitors, 13,500 bikes so far and 10% up on last year. It's going to be busy and chaotic! :)

I live within a mile of Oulton Park and you could hear the sounds of the Bikes and Racing cars howling in the distance today, so there was obviously lots going on.:snork: When it's Easter Weekend the Bikers will turn up in their hundreds to attend the races there.:snork:

So you gain a taste of what it's like here Armandii. :) After the first week I've had enough of the noise, it's impossible to escape it. Even when the roads are closed and the racing is on the bikes are screaming through my village and I can hear them with windows and doors shut. I wouldn't have it any other way though, there's a great atmosphere amongst the people that visit and it's good to see people enjoying their once a year visit. :)

Rossi cracks Marquez again! Not sure how long this video will stay on You Tube for................

Only three races in but even Lorenzo has admitted that Rossi has moved up to a new level.

It amazes me how they just get up and walk away unhurt from these prangs at such high speed and then go and hurl abuse at the "dead" bike !!

Usually. The Wayne Rainey crash was a nothing crash to start with but it left him in a wheelchair. They say the trick is to relax but if a bike is spitting you off at 100mph that is easier said then done!

Yeah, that was a bit rich in this instance :heehee:

The Rainey injury was caused by him colliding with the raked gravel when he slid into it.
It was in those days practice to take the gravel into troughs to slow bikes and riders as they slid. The practice was stopped After Wayne's injury and when the worked out exactly what had happened..

A few pics of my bikes. I will concentrate on the track / Race bike here and go onto the road bikes later if I haven't bored you all to much ! All bikes were built by may fair hands with the assistance of a top mechanic who checked the more complicated stuff. My favoured brand was Yamaha and I was into the R1 mostly which is a 998cc ( 10000) 4 cylinder engine which featured a 5 valve head. Standard power for a road bike was supposed to be 160 BHP but the reality was nearer 140.. Still a very quick bike straight out of the crate.

Pictures. The eagle eyed will spot the name "Chuck" on the screens of the bikes ..

First up is "The beast" I built this from the frame up. It had a full race engine and featured a ram air system from Over racing (Japan) It made 190 BHP at the tyre and was a seriously fast machine. It cost well over 30K to build but it was a fabulous machine and I loved it.

This bike was known as "The Shark" It was built on a 2002 Yamaha R1 . The 2002 R1 was the first of the fuel injected R1 machines. This bike was shown and displayed at the 2003 and 2004 NEC bike show ..

Another R1. This one was a year 2000. It had every panel including the tank replaced with plain gel coated carbon fibre. It was built as a road bike but eventually went on the track.

This is my R7/1. The R7 was a homologation special built so Yamaha could race it in the the "Superbike" series. It had a 750cc engine and was designated as the 0W02 which is Yamahas way of saying very trick and VERY expensive. 500 were built and they cost a huge ammount of money. I think from memory £38.000.

This bike I built using an R1 chassis and 1000cc engine dressed with the R7 bodywork in Carbon fibre.

I agree. But it was a nothing crash in the grand scheme of a pro riders career to start with.
