ooohhh so this is where you all are at this time of day :th scifD36::th scifD36::th scifD36::th scifD36::th scifD36:

just cloud no rain , had a little overnight.

I need to get out in the garden and decide what plants to go in the front garden , I have lots of daylilys in pots but the labels have gone missing again , I caught a magpie pulling them out last week so I have been attaching with string on to the plant itself rather than sticking them in the soil .
have a relaxing but fun day

      Good morning all,

Loli, join the gang, my memory gets like a sieve. Gout is much better this morning. Must get Amber out as it is starting to rain here.
WOO, hope you are feeling better.
Shiney, hope you are not over doing things.

Have a good day everyone, keep dry and warm because it is quite chilly out there.
      God bless. :wub2:

          Aloha everyone,

Moyra, it's good to hear that your foot is improving. :blue thumb:

Woo, you keep getting better, too. :)

Of course I am! :heehee:

Got lots done yesterday - more new edges cut, loads of weeding and then I went out to play with my new long handled shears (the things we gardeners do!). The story of my new shears is in 'Reasons to be cheerful...' http://www.gardenerscorner.co.uk/fo...king-you-happy-today.1620/page-15#post-927691

          @Spruce We're usually on here between approx. 5.30 a.m. and 10. a.m. :dbgrtmb:.
Re your labels: An attractive way to solve the problem of them being pulled out by magpies and blackbirds is to use paddle stones or pieces of slate to write the plant names on. You can buy silver or gold indelible pens to write with.

We had a touch of rain in the night but nowhere near enough. I'm going to put the hose on the rhubarb as I have orders for 30lb of it for Tuesday. Bending over to pull the rhubarb gets a bit much for my back :old:

We're off to a charity quiz today. It's for mental health services at the hospital. :blue thumb:

Keep well and have a great day

          Aloha!

Morning lovely folk of GC, Happy Saturday. First time I've actually got on the morning thread in the morning for ages!

Thank you so much for your good wishes for Phil, he's a little brighter now. I bought him an electric wheelchair this week. And in May the building work will start on the wetroom and the door access. Social Services are going to install a hoist and I have told him when all that's done, I'll be getting him up sharp, washed, hoisted into the wheelchair which I will set on fast mode and into the door lift and I don't expect to see him again until 6pm! Tenuous I know, but might work!!

@moyra I hope the gout has subsided and you are getting some relief x

My ground is rock solid in the garden, soon to be resolved I believe as it is going to rain overnight and we really need it. I have a few more things to plant then I can get my bark chips down, I'm sick of tripping over the bags on the way to the loo, it's like an obstacle course out there!

Looking forward to going to Shineys. May pitch up in the electric wheelchair so I can carry stuff home!

@Beckie76 and @Lolimac I have had to take my eye off the ball recently with my Aldi purchases over the last couple of weeks as so busy which distressed me a lot! I did, however manage to bag a Clematis with huge floppy purple flowers yesterday - it was £5.99 but it's gorgeous. Makes me happy when I see the cartoon like oversized flower. I'm in love with it!

5x50Challenge is going well. Phil bought me some Sketchers GoWalk2 and it's like walking in marshmallows - they're highly recommended folks if you don't mind comfort over style. I love mine!

Right. I'm off to work guys - enjoy your day and catch you all later. (((Hugs))) x x x

Hello everyone, I am hoping that maybe I shall be well enough to come to Shiney's day again this year. Very difficult as my health is not as good as it was and it was pretty iffy last year. However, nothing tried, nothing lost! I shall endeavour. I have to go for my eye tests again on the 13th may - Field vision as well as the consultancy. My field vision was passed last year by the DVLC but I must not take too much for granted as I feel my eyes have not been so good lately.Have a good afternoon all, God bless. :wub2:

                Good morning everyone,

Moyra ..Pleased the gout has eased:fingers crossed: take it steady:thumbsup:

Lynda..How fast is 'fast mode' :runforhills::biggrin:...The alterations will make yours and Phils life much easier:yes::dbgrtmb:..
I'm tempted to get some Sketchers they do look really comfortable:thumbsup:

Shiney...I wouldn't mind some of those long handled shears:blue thumb: my edging shears have been sharpened that many times there's hardly any blades left on them,it's about time I got some new ones and it would save me getting soggy knees:thumbsup:

Had sunshine on and off yesterday and in between some fabulous heavy showers, you wouldn't believe the difference in the plants this morning:huh:I swear they've grown by an inch or two overnight especially my Buxus ,it's amazing.

                It's looking like another good one:fingers crossed::SUNsmile:

Enjoy your day everyone and take care:SUNsmile:

                Aloha everyone,

@Lolimac I can definitely recommend these shears and they're on special offer in The Range at £14.99. We used them when they were made in the name of Wilkinson Sword (made by Fiskar) and now they are just made in the name of Fiskar. They're priced at £29.99 on the ticket but should be reduced at the till. You can always take them to the till and have them check it. Try not to buy too many plants at the same time :heehee:. To make it easier for you, they look like the bottom pair in this picture (black handles) but say Fiskar. :blue thumb:

                P1230093.JPG

@moyra it will be good if you could make it. :dbgrtmb: If you have a Blue Badge you can park in the driveway (pull in anywhere and ask them to call me and I'll show you where to park). Or, if you don't have a Blue Badge, drive in and ask for me, and I'll go and park it for you to save you walking if the parking is all down the road. :grphg: I can't guarantee that I'll be waiting out on the road for you this time.

We've had some rain over night but not enough for the garden. Everything out there has perked up and I may be able to get out there this morning and dig out some of the weeds from areas that I couldn't even get the fork into up till now.

We have friends coming for lunch and dinner so not too much time to work out there.

The quiz last night was fun - to start with. In the first half we scored 81 out of 90. Not bad but not as good as the team that scored 89! In the second half we only scored 42 out of 90
There were a couple of rounds where we hadn't the faintest idea of the answers! The music round was all questions on pop music of the 90's and later (:dunno: :old:) which included questions on who wrote the songs! There was a round about quotes of the last line in 'famous' films and asking for the title of the film and another round about characters or actors in TV and Films (none of our team go to the cinema and we hadn't heard of the TV shows).

One team scored 22 out of 180 and won a booby prize :heehee:

Keep well and have a great day

                Aloha!

Moyra, it only drizzled early this morning in Shineyland and now the sun is trying to come out. I went into the village to pick up some nice fresh, hot, French bread (the village shop bakes the bread) for our visitors for lunch.

The funfair on the village green is in full 'swing' this weekend :dbgrtmb:

Been pretty miserable all day so far. Mind you the garden wanted this rain.
