Think I'll be voting for the local Indian takeaway/throwaway.
That's the only stuff I get through my letter box.

Zero hour contracts are set up to benefit one party and that is clearly the employer. What is the point of having employment laws like we used to have and then introducing these frankly bloody awful Zero hour contracts that take them away.
Im unsure what ESA is but did it replace incapacity ?

DLA is a topic that was on the radio the other day and I alluded to this above. Some fella asked a government minister if they would abolish this DLA which I'm assuming is disability money ? The minister refused to comment.
They are apparently not going to touch child money so where are they going to save this 12 Billion ?
None of the above affects me but the thought of just taking away the money that enables disabled folk a better life or greater mobility is an absolute joke.

But what really annoys is that they and by "they" I mean the torys refuse to do is tell us where these savings are to come from ? Pensions maybe ?

They're desperate. Their ridiculous announcement of legislation to freeze several key taxes is proof of that.

My opinion and it may not sit well is taxes should go up to preserve things like benefits for the genuinely disabled, Pensions, And things like the NHS.
As a very very long term self employed person I would get sod (excuse the gardening term I cant help it ) all from the system with the exception of the state pension.
Being far far far far far to young it will be some time before I qualify for that but already they have taken the starting age form 65 to in my case 67. Sods.. Sorry there I go gardening again.

It was the torys that took my pension date away.

It was the same who allowed Zero hour contracts.

It was the same who raised VAT despite promising they would not.

It was the same who introduced the so called "bedroom tax"

The list goes on and on.

I find the thoughts of attacking the disabled and sick most unpalatable but even if I didn't. I would never vote for the torys never in a month of Sundays.

That said I have a clue who to vote for. :dunno::dunno::dunno:

The tories always hammer the most vulnerable in society. I couldn't vote for them but I can't vote labour either. I don't trust them and they're a joke in terms of their previous immigration policy. I've got a lot on my plate this coming week which to me is more important than any election so I'm not going to bother voting. I live in a labour stronghold anyway so it won't make any difference.

Could be worse though ... when state pensions were first handed out ... you had to 70 years old to qualify ;)

and my grandmother was too old to qualify because there was also an upper age limit.

I know of an income limit but not an upper age limit.
So what would that have been then?

                  Actually labour introduced those

The tories made it so its illegal to be in a zero hours contract where you can only work for that company

And ESA is employment and support allowance and it does replace incapacity benefit. You are either put in a work related activity group on ESA or the support group. ESA comes in two forms contribution based which is based on your NI contributions but you can only have this one for a year or income related which is based on the amount of savings you have an the income of your household.

DLA is disability living allowance which is not means tested and affects no other means tested benefit. This is now being moved over to PIP which is personal independence payments

To be perfectly honest here i think after this General Election their will be no change of Government..The Liberal Democrats will have decided to join up again with the Tories for another 5 years..I have always voted for Labour but have no confidence in Ed Miliband..:help::noidea::dunno:

I really do get fed up with governments scrapping certain payments then coming up with another with a different name, its a waste of time and money, and mostly a publicity stunt.

I can remember the old blokes at work back in the 70s who were about to retire at 65.
They used to say things like, by the time you retire the age will be down to 50.

How wrong they were, its 66 for me at the moment, I was born about three months too late.
So have to go another year.
