Charlotte/Elizabeth/Diana the new Royal Baby;):blue thumb:

Yet Charlotte (1744-1818) has much less resonance in the land where she was actually queen. If she is known at all here, it is from her depiction in Alan Bennett's play as the wife of "mad" King George III. We have forgotten or perhaps never knew that she founded Kew Gardens, that she bore 15 children and was Britain's first black Queen:whistle:;)

The papers are saying that Charlotte is the male form of Charles, so it would appear she's been named after her grandfather, grandmother and great grandmother, which I think is lovely.

she is a cutie pie and she could be called anything and still we would grow to like that name...:spinning: It is the person which makes a name beautiful and I am kind of pretty sure we have a winner here...

Hopefully she will keep the tourists flooding in. Unless we have found another use for a royal family?

Well there's our future king who has saved countless lives through his day job and will continue to do so as a helicopter pilot in the air ambulance service, I think that's pretty useful :blue thumb:

I went to my daughter's parents evening (a good few years ago) and met her form teacher, Mr Smith, for the first time.
He prattled on about "Charlie this" and "Charlie that" ... and then he managed to say:
"You don't mind me calling her Charlie, do you?" :)
                      to which I replied
"As long as you don't mind me calling her Charlotte: which *is* her name, after all ... Mr Jones." ;)

So, I'm biased and I adore her name
