Hello my forum friends, life is too hectic at the moment I'm not spending enough time with you!
I've skipped over the posts on this thread so I'm kind of up to speed!
@Lolimac, thank you for asking after Nora I'm delighted to tell you she's fine , blimey though I had some very scary moments over the weekend, her crop was so full she was dribbling, I had to make her sick & I hate doing that. I tried the olive oil, ACV, maggots (which we had to drop into her beak) & also melon, her comb started to turn from black to red & gradually she improved. I've never been so happy to see a poo before! I knew once she pooped there was food flowing again! @shiney im pleased to hear your leg is getting better
@lost_in_france I hope all is well with your dad
@moyra, I hope you are ok?
@wiseowl, I very much hope you are feeling better I hope mrs Woo is also keeping well?
@liliana I hope you get a good nights sleep tonight.

Beckie...That's great news about Nora you've done really well to get her back on trackChook troubles are difficult to deal with as I always feel you don't have enough time,they hide their ailments well and are usually very poorly before they start showing it .Really chuffed she's back to her usual self

Off to the coal face this morning and it's going to be an emotional one...The chef leaves today after 40 years.The company has brought in 'Ready meals' so his services are no longer required...these meals are said to be very good but you can't beat home cooked food IMHO.The Chef is a smashing chap and given his all and been a great friend over the years,He was there the day I walked into the building 33 years ago so I'm going to miss him so much.I've been nominated to give him a farewell speech seen as we're both the longest remaining staff.I can see me having trouble holding it together The place won't be the same without him.Who on Christmas day is going to close all the curtains and come walking through into the dining room with a huge Christmas pudding aflame? won't be the same unwrapping a 'ready meal' ...I personally don't agree with it but I'm just a little fish in this world of 'progress'....Still he'll get a good send off

Exactly Shiney....We have two set menus daily but the chef was always happy to cook up something different for anyone that preferred something else.He's been cooking for 50 residents all these years and he's been known to cook up many different dishes some days so everyone was happy,nothing has been too much trouble for him.
Oooo don't get me started

Good morning all, we had plenty of rain in the night but it's bright & sunny here now , I'm not sure it's going to last there's a black cloud coming this way! But it will do the garden the world of good , everything is shooting up quickly now & the tulips are so pretty.
Nora doesn't look too sharpe this morning, you are quite right @Lolimac they don't show any sign of illness until it's too late, I shall carry on I'm not one to give up!
I must dash another busy day at work, enjoy your day everyone & happy gardening.

Well it must be a lot different in North Essex/Herts border Shiney. I was just about to take Amber out and the heavens opened was really nasty for a while with the high winds blowing too. I put the kettle on, made a cup of tea and it eventually slowed down to a spitting pace so grabbed my chance and got her out onto the green as quickly as I could. Now that is done and we are back in the dry it seems to be clearing up again! Roll on Spring I am so tired of this weather. Especially the wind. I do hope your leg and foot are on the mend.

WOO, Sorry to hear your feathers are out of condition my dear. Do hope you feel better soon, pamper yourself and keep tucked up in that warm nest. God bless.

Loli, So sorry to read of the change over and you losing your chef after all these years. What a shame and they call it progress, cost cutting more like.

Hope you are all in the pink.

Good bit of rain last night, very windy, the day has started sunny, but a big
cloud is hanging overhead and I think it's going to dump a lot of water.

Not feeling too bad, another plaster off today, just the last messy one, which
doesn't seem to want to heal.
