The first of my Irises coming into bloom. It may not be the prettiest but it has a wonderful sweet perfume that wafts around the bed when I'm working there. :)

I don't know the name of it Loli. It's actually of American origin, my mum persuaded part of it's parent plant to come home with her many years ago after holidaying there. :)

If you're interested I'll send you a piece when it's finished flowering. It grows to approximately eighteen inches high.

@HsuH - I had no idea that the Rehmannia is such an early bloomer.

Confession - this is my backup plant that over wintered in my unheated greenhouse. The one which stayed outdoors in the ground should be in flower next month.

Not trying to wind you up, LongK, and here is another one over wintered indoors:heehee:. Should be staying outside by now but I had to take it back in due to the terrible wind which keeps on blowing it over

No tricks here, I'm afraid though strictly speaking it's not mine but my neighbour's. Its roots are growing against a wall facing in a northwesterly direction while the flowers in my garden are facing easterly.

I left mine outdoors in a sheltered spot this winter - it's toast :frown:
