What is the name of the plant? (I guess most here may know)...looks like from the iris family.

      That looks exciting Kindredspirit!

I'm guessing that it's either a Yucca or a Furcraea.............

      Beschorneria Yuccoides. :)

Sometimes known as Mexican Lily. I "think" it's from the Asparagus family. (I might have to get a bigger saucepan) :)

My problem is that the glass roof of the Pergola is directly overhead. Yikes! I may be in for a smashing time if the flower stem grows too tall.

It's the first time one of mine will have flowered. I was given them 4 years ago as tiny 2" high seedlings.

Mind you, I'm now wondering if it is B.yuccoides. Or if it needs a bigger pot?

I have seen a few of these in flower and often they lean over rather than grow straight up

It's been very cold since I took the first pic, hailstones, sleet, etc, so there hasn't been much movement but these are pics I took today. It appears to be heading in an easterly direction so watch out those of you in the East! :) :)

                It looks fantastic nonetheless!
Mine on the other hand has been romping away and two of the three are nicely upright...........

The reason I posted the pic is I wonder if you have any ideas on the id. I bought it as B.yuccoides but that is clearly incorrect.

That is pretty much my conclusion now.

                  Better in a pot.

It has never even thought about growing a trunk before it blooms and they're monocarpic.
