Have you been taking lessons from Churchill :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."

Churchill had something to say about that as well:-

"The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter."

                    Although he also said:-

"It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried."

                    :dunno: :heehee:

Topical in more ways than one. As I read your post Sajid David (the new business secretary) is on Radio 4. So it looks as if they will steamroller through their reforms to employment law now that Vince Cable and the Lib Dems are out of the way.

I hear this so often but I've never met anyone who can tell me why. I really don't know who envies our health service, all they envy is that we don't seem to pay. Excellent free advice is available in pharmacies all over Europe, in most countries you don't have to wait a week to see a doctor and if you've visited hospitals in other countries you will generally find they are cleaner, more efficient and the treatment is more advanced. Yes it has to be paid for somehow but nothing comes for nothing; if we want a better service somehow we have to pay for it whether it is higher taxation or insurance. At the moment we are getting a second rate service but because we are led to thinking it's "free" we don't feel we can complain.
