Can anyone explain to me what staff training is?
Even schools seem to do it these days

I've not noticed any privately run businesses doing it, although I could be wrong.

Its mostly just the ones that dont have to make any money, and are paid by the taxpayer.

And why do the staff need training, should they not be learning as they go along, like most normal people do?

When i worked for a well known pet store we had staff training once the store had close on a sunday for an hour

It was to get updates from HQ about security or procedure etc. changes in animal care or how to clean them out. One of them was when snakes were introduced to the store on how to handle them and clean them out etc

I cam only imagine at doctors its updates on procedures, changes in reporting stuff, medicine changes or recalls etc stuff like that

You've obviously not tried John West sliced, smoked tuna in olive oil.

Fantastic on toast with loads of butter and black pepper.

We used to have 'Staff Training' for one hour every week after we had closed. This was to discuss problems (technical and customer handling), ideas, innovations and for a general wind down.

It helped that there were a couple of bottles of wine and some cans provided as well. :blue thumb: :)

There you are, stuck at the lights with several cars in front of you. The lights turn green and the driver at the front finally notices, then you can see the thought process. "Oh look, the lights have turned green. Ok, engage the clutch, put it into 1st gear, and slowly disengage the clutch". Then, the driver behind him thinks to himself, "Oh look, the driver in front has moved away, Ok, engage the clutch, put it into 1st gear, and disengage the clutch", and so it goes until the lights turn red again, and I'm still stuck in the queue. Get on with it! Jeez....
