That's the one Longk, mine's two weeks later coming into bloom this year. It should bloom for you this year, where as the white one may take a couple of years.

Fellow member Spruce has kindly been researching my Iris and we at last have a name for it......'Little Chestnut', it was introduced in 1970. Many thanks Spruce! :dbgrtmb:

As I said in my post above, my mum brought this back from America sometime in the 1980's and I adopted part of the plant approximately ten years ago. In all this time the flowers have never fully opened even though they are in sun. Yesterday I went out to take pictures and found just one flower fully open.....fantastic! :hapydancsmil: I then discovered the flower in the third picture that has four tongues instead of three. :)

You need to invest in some of the dwarf forms for flowering from January Amy.

              I was right...................

10 to 15 blooms per stem and lots of fans are producing stems. It is a stunner in detail.............

It was fun to do , and so glad we had a result

                          Hi Iris lovers,
A few years ago I inherited an iris collection - I was just told to go dig up plants that had already flowered. As a result I've got masses of unnamed plants. What is exciting is that every year some flower that I've never seen before! Anyways, as they are opening I'm putting them in this album only eight varieties so far lots more to come:

Spotted 2 flower stalks on the iris I planted last spring, a division from my yiayia (Greek gran). I think it's going to be purple/blue.
