Just for motivational purposes......this is the lawn less than a year later.
Stick with it, and the hard work will be worth it :blue thumb:

Yeah that's exactly where I'm at at the moment.....after killing the moss and raking it out our "lawn" has become a brown mess and looks 100x worse than before...but I guess that's the way it got to be before it gets better!

This is basically what I want ours to look like but I think I'll always be working on keeping it looking good what with having a 15 month old and all the toys etc

It's like @Sheal said in another thread. It's an ongoing thing.
It does get easier once you get sorted though :blue thumb:

        Hi @JoeyJoJo - welcome to GC :sign0016:

I see our resident experts are already looking after you, so hopefully before long you will be reaping the benefits of all your hard work. If you have a very large area to deal with, you might want to consider one of these

Welcome to Gardeners Corner JoeyJoJo. :) I'll work my way down your post and hopefully give you some answers.

First of all the 4 in 1 treatment you have given your lawn has fertiliser in it to feed the grass, so there is no need to fertilise again before or after at this stage. If you do the grass will outgrow it's strength.

If you want to lay seed then you will not be able to use the 4 in 1 again this year, new grass/lawns don't need to be fed in their first year as they gain enough nutrients from the soil. So right now I would stop any further treatment until autumn and then if necessary apply just a moss and/or weed killer. Grass is slowing down in growth at that stage for winter and shouldn't be fed.

I would ignore the remaining moss for now, aerate the lawn and then sow your new seed either with some topsoil or compost and firm it down. Water every day unless it rains until it's established, but not so heavily that you wash the seed out.
