With my replacement edging knife - I decided to have a wee shot and get some more of the lawn shaping done:

One half done, the rest to follow. The path is on borrowed time now, as the garden centre ave got some nice looking turf for £3.50 a roll....

EDIT and a view from the ground

Sowed some more nigella and cornflowers, and just generally walked around admiring everything. Actually quite content with my garden at the moment.

Edging a side bed...about half way up. I'd really like to get this edged and weeded by tonight but injured my knee running last Friday and it's nipping so making slow progress. Takes seconds to edge and ages to barrow the sods (well named).

Planted up the Salvia Amistad and potted on the Canna Assaut. In doing so I noticed one of my sweet peas was looking very dead. Sure enough, detached at the root and a vine weevil grub sitting right there. Can't believe they're back with a vengeance already. And a bit too early for the nematodes. When the soil warms up I'm going to buy enough to soak the entire garden.

Potted up some of the Tomato plants into their final pots but couldn't position them because I can't get the screws out of the staging to fold it down:gaah:,I must be getting weaker, don't remember screwing them that tight:rolleyespink: I could feel myself bordering on a tantrum so I've left it while later:blue thumb:...moved lots of plants outside now ready for planting, got the fleece handy just incase but it feels like as I was taking the plants out of the GH someone was putting more in their place:th scifD36::biggrin:

I was just going to say that Jack:thumbsup: I risked it a few weeks back but they're only on one particular border which is sheltered and thankfully the weather has been reasonably kind:dbgrtmb:

You need a blowtorch @Lolimac - heat the screws a bit, and then try again.

I found them a big problem this year, must have been the mild winter.

Thanks FC:thumbsup: It's funny I'd already had that conversation but my staging is wooden, a blow torch would have come in handy at that precise because I was very tempted to set fire to it:gaah:
...I had to saw through a couple of screws in the end because in my paddy I'd chewed the screw heads up:doh: all done now though:thumbsup:

We used the nematodes last week. All the plants for sale get a dose as we have too many to individually check them.

Nothing gets planted in the garden without a health check but it doesn't stop the little B's from getting everywhere!
