It'll be on terra firma this year:thumbsup:,I can't keep taking my steps to bits ,my windows won't get cleaned:biggrin:

I still haven't decided on a plot for it yet as I haven't got much space but it has to be well protected from the killer chickens:chicken: Where there's a will there's a way:thumbsup:

Just don't cut it "early" for a show this year...let it grow!

This seed I have either take two older parents and then remake a famous seed or they already have a famous parent, either way they are all part of the genetics that went forward to make the famous giant Wallace. It'll be interesting to see what happens, providing I can germinate some of them..lol

      Steve...:)

Yaaaaay, my seeds are in and I have sown 4. Got help me if they all germinate. LOL

Found out that my already sown ones which are around 4 inches high now are 'conneticut field'. Whatever the hell that is. Hopefully they'll grow and we can use them for Jack olanterns :)

30 Hours after sowing and placing in a 50w propagator. I scraped away a bit of the thick edges with a rope knife before sowing. Got a bit of catching up to do!

My green manure on the patch has reached 3ft+ so yesterday I strimmed it down the middle, dug it in by hand and today I rotovated over the top of it and added some soil amendments. Then put the hoops up. Ready for plants now and the rest of the manure will be dug in as the plant starts to fill the space.

I have a few plants that have germinated, so we are off and running now. (finally!)

A couple of young'uns (at the front in 90mm pots, they're marrows at the back for comparison). The one on the left is 10 days after germination, and the other 9 days.

It's looking good John, much, much better than either of mine. Scrungees look good and healthy too.

Reckon I might be only 48 hrs behind you:

                      pumpkins 27May2015.jpg

Mine were like that last year, but I potted them up in some contaminated potting compost and lost them all, together with my Marrows, early Courgettes, all my beefsteak Tomatoes and my Tomato hanging baskets/containers.
