Hi, made a rookie mistake and bought this on impulse (along with a beautiful dark red lily!) but none of them had any labels and I have no idea what it is. It was labelled as a bedding plant and that's about all I know!

It looks like Cleome hassleriana. It's an annual. How large are they?

They look a good size - are they?
Space them out (or dot them around) and they will reach 1.5 to 2 metres and up to 1.5 metres across. As a result they will produce lots of viable seed. So they are what I call a plant for life - you will never need to buy another one.

Hi @longk, yes they are quite a good size, I only bought one as I didn't know what it was. Good to know they will produce lots of seeds so hopefully if I don't kill it off it will produce another one for me next year :)

You'll need to collect them as they're unlikely to survive a British winter.
