I know the bikers bring welcome revenue to IOM but that's a very nice, heart warming gesture Sheal.
A BIG UP to the IOM Community spirit,

Rain just started, after a sunny day, and the wind is certainly picking up. Hanging baskets taken down and blowaway is ready to blow away! :noidea:

Roads are being blocked by fallen trees here, that's not going to help workers getting home at this time.

So tired of all the wind. I've had to move various pots closer to the house as a bit of protection. All the annuals in the closed off well, will have to just hang on in there. Ooo, must go and close the greenhouse! Really hope everyone fares well with the wind, and that there are no garden casulaties. xx

Lovely in Swindon this morning ,finished all the planting. Now this afternoon not much rain but blowing hard with worse to come overnight. I have had a Blackcurrant leaf blow off already!!
Tall plants that are not too heavy to give you a hernia are in the greenhouse or shed & hanging baskets are swinging around merrily.
No doubt Tuesday will be picking up the pieces.:cry3:

I have a gorgeous peachey/pink Foxglove spire that's as tall as me and I don't want it murdered . Hoping that the raffia tie I've made that is anchored to the fence will help,

Think us over here in the East are supposed to be the least affected, though they are predicting 40mph+ winds and heavy rain from this evening through till tomorrow lunch. Was nice this morning, then after lunch started steadily raining and gusty winds.

No hanging baskets here but I always worry about the large trees we have that always get a battering when in full leaf.

                      Stay safe everyone.

It's grim outside now. Just been outside and dragged a few containers into a more sheltered position. The blowaway is still where it should be and a couple of things had blown over so I wedged them upright with some bricks. It's really dark so the lights are on and the heating! 1st of June - the only way is up!

The wind's starting to pick up here, though the rain has died down a bit thank goodness! There's not much to spoil in my garden right now but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of your beautiful spaces. Hope they all come through unscathed.

Not bad here ... bit on the grey side, but that's about it ...
If I were nearer, I'd pop round and sort your pots, pans, baskets and hens.
                                Anyone nearer you could ask?

Also, take extra care when you are travelling home - that goes for everyone suffering from wind :grphg:
