Over the last year, mostly during winter months, I've rediscovered my love of sewing and embroidery again. I'm not proficient in either, but I do enjoy whiling away a wet afternoon playing in my craft/dining room.

I've been making these needle books as little gifts for myself and friends who also embroider.

And I've made a start on my very first quilt. It still needs finishing, but I'm waiting until we've finished our bathroom renovations (too much dust!) to do that.

This is one of my last cross stich projects.

Love seeing what people create, certainly beats staring at a tv!

Joolz, what lovely articles you have crafted there. Certainly is so much nicer that watching a telly. To see your piece develop is so good for the soul and a dose of that "feelgood factor " is good for the mind and body. That quilt is gonna be amazing...,

Thanx joolz and yeh im going to just stick them in the shop as outdoor crochet baubles and not as christmas ones so they can be used for easter or birthday parties as well

Your needle books are so beautifula and too cute. They are really lovely.

I woke up to an email this morning from crafts beautiful magazine to say i am their star letter for the July issue and my crochet plant pots will be featured and a link to my shop. I have also got a prize being sent to me aparently. So really excited about that now as well. Its a tiny feature and more about me than my brand but its still great and the pots look nice.

picked up the mag and this is my little feature. Totally forgot they asked me to send in this picture with info months ago after posting it on their facebook status that asked what have you made this weekend. They turned my babbling email into one that sounds really nice lol

Aww, thanks Jenny. Have to say I'm fairly pleased with the quilt, considering it's my first attempt. I can't wait to finish it, so I can start another one. :heehee:

@Dips How fantastic, to be in print. You must be chuffed to bits chick. I think it's brilliant that you're able to turn doing something you love into an exciting new venture. I really hope it all goes fabulously for you.

I'm sure it will chick! I'd love some of the crochet planters for herbs, in my veg plot, when I've completed it. Hope to make a start on that either Autumn, or Spring next year. I've bookmarked you for me to come back to when I'm ready. I really think they're great, and add a splash of colour all year round. xx

Thats because it didnt exist before me no one else was stupid enough to crochet with polypropylene twine before me lol

Currently fighting with some mini flower and mini star trellises. They are all made but weaving in the ends is a battle and rubs your hands a bit raw.
