Aww that is totally awful for you . I've got quite a few veggie seeds I'd be happy to send to get things started again if you'd like - get in touch if you're interested.

The wind got a lot worse late this afternoon - rhubarb plants a complete gonner and some cranesbills ripped about and an acer is looking very scorched and unhappy, but all in all nothing too bad considering. Windspeed seems to be dying down a bit now thankfully.

Braced for the storm but it never came. Bit cold and damp though so put the woodburner on. Dogs approved anyway

A few plants bent over like old men and the rose attached to the trellis has strayed somewhat. The window box tomatoes are looking dazed but hopefully will recover. It has stopped raining and the wind's not too bad anymore, but the sky is still grey,
2nd June was a total write off ...

Dry, warm and sunny, around 27ÂșC, but with an annoying north wind in the evenings. Thankfully the night temperatures are finally in double digits...but only just.

Huge branch on one of my big roses partially snapped, and 3-4 buds snapped off. Many pots blown over, and a chair with a hanging basket on it upturned. Damage isn't too bad I guess. Come on summer!

Very strong gusts of wind today here in the Midlands, but at least it was dry and sunny all day.

We trekked over to our allotment to check that everything was ok as I was worried that the wind had stripped the leaves off of my runner beans but luckily only a couple of them look battered and it seems that the wind break Mr Kandy put all round the canes has helped protect the plants to some extent.I had visions of having to try and resow the whole lot:frown:

Looking forward to this heatwave they are on about so I can get plenty of work done in the garden/allotment and the VitaminD will help me bones:yes:

Thanks "M". I couldn't afford a huge lens for my DSLR so my family bought me a bridge camera for my birthday last year which gives me the huge zoom option. :) The shot below although hazy is of Peel Castle taken five miles away.

Well, after yesterdays debacle with the weather it finally calmed down late afternoon today. We've had a mixture of sun and cloud but still with that cold strong breeze, it's certainly not summer here yet! 14C feeling much colder.
