Haha I haven't, honest! I've got one too, against a low wall. Mine is newly planted in march though so only got a couple of flowers this year.

Hi Charlie, mine is planted in the shade against the trunk of the Acer Brilliantissimum with a Clematis Armandii on the other side so that I have Spring and early Summer c0lour among the branches.:snork:

Charlie beat me to it, "M":dunno::heehee:

I only have two Clematis and had to move them both in March because their climbing frame was removed from my garden - below. :doh:They are currently in a large planter, my spring flowering one suffered and barely bloomed but my summer one is about to open it's first flower. I'm looking forward to that as it was only planted last autumn. :)

For years I couldn't keep Clematis alive Harry, there was always something that made them keel over and wilt was the usual suspect.

Well what fun we are having , looked at my Clematis Margret Hunt today and its drooping ! So as well as being stunted this year it may have Clematis wilt . I'll cut it right back to the ground stems tonight and plant a cup and saucer vine next to it for this year. It should regrow OK , fingers crossed !

My clematis year is a bit hit and miss, all my Montana's have done great but my Chiisanenss 'Love Child is still to flower, most of my Viticella's are in bud.
Will have to wait and see what happens

Ian I think Clematis are a bit hit and miss . This post was my three ultra reliable performing ( see above ) Clematis have decided to be a bit sulky or go belly up ! I planted C. Pink Champagne behind a large fir tree 5 years ago, it must have 300 gorgeous flowers on it now which we can't see ! :gaah: It is being moved to a prime position next February..........when it will probably die....

Cut back to ground level my wilting C. Mrs Hunt before work this morning . I noticed it already had a little new shot about 2 inches tall ! Will this new shoot be free of clematis wilt ?
