Update on my cat Simian.

Just spoken to the Vets, my boy is doing fabulously. They're keeping him till around 4, and as long as he gets on ok during the day, we can bring him home tonight. She made me howl with laughter as she said "He's just had the biggest wee known to man" He likes a good wee does Simmy.

She said he was a bit fed up of the frame on the inside of his leg, but she'd just let him out on the floor to clean his little tray and he was trying to amble about on his 3 other legs! @shiney, tell Hannah the Reiki is working!!! YAY

As soon as my boy is home and settled I'll let you know.

FANTASTIC NEWS

 

Simmy is home!​

He's resting now, but it was a testing time getting him to settle. He only tried to scale the bleeping sides of the cage.
Much franticness on our part to remove him from the side. But now I've put a throw over it, he seems more relaxed!

We've got to go back to my local Vets on Monday, to have him checked over, make sure he's still doing ok, and that everything is as it should be. I am so pleased to have him home, but I know I'm going to fret that he tries to climb the sides of the crate again when we're not in the same room to keep an eye on him. So I may be looking for another crate!

I'm so glad the op went well and he's back home with you! He's a gorgeous boy isn't he, very handsome.

Yes, tell him no cage climbing!! Crikey, that must have nearly given you a heart attack! Hope he stays calm, content and rested for as long as he needs to heal up well

You can say that again. I am now so worried that he might have hurt himself. I'll be calling the Vets tomorrow to make an apt for Monday, and will menion the little escapade. He didn't get high up it, used his front paws to pull himself up, but he still climbed up one rung, which is one rung too many!

He hasn't looked at it again, and is sleeping at the moment. Phew!

 

I've decided I'm not going to put the litter tray in for the time being. I've brought puppy training pads, and they're in the cage with him. It's what they'd used at the vets, so for this week at least, I'll do the same. I have brought a very simple litter tray for him, and we've cut out an opening in the front of it so he doesn't have to lift his legs over it, he can just walk in. But I'm not going to use it just yet. You can just about see it in one of the pictures.

What a relief (relatively speaking) that he is on the mend. Good luck keeping him in the cage though - if he's like mine the novelty will wear off soon.

 

The cage is huge really, I can fit half of myself inside it. So, I've just laid across the doorway, and we've had lots of chin & ear rubs.He's napping again now.
