I used to like Roses but was put off by people/literature implying that they were a lot of work. Now we have about 15.

I find that like anything else if you keep on top of them from day one they are as easy as anything else.

We even had them blooming over Christmas last year.

A few years s ago I did away with a flowerbed, it's outside the front door, I'd got the wrong plants in there at the time, but now I'm thinking....oohhhhh a lovely rose bed! :hapydancsmil: I literally put some matting down & shingled it, that's not going to take much work to get it ready for planting! :dbgrtmb: I've been researching but I honestly don't know which Roses to choose! What a great problem to have hey! :heehee:

Wow that looks so lovely Sheal, The colour reminds me of raspberry ripple ice cream. I will take some photos when they open, I purchased one with lots of buds so can't wait to watch them come into bloom :)

I've inherited 3 rosebushes in my new flat's garden. When I moved in this time last year they were sad, diseased and insect covered specimens which produced hardly any flowers. I've spent the last months giving them some TLC and have been delighted by how well they're now doing. Only issue now is i've no idea how to identify their type. Does anyone have any idea how to ID these roses?

                      Thanks!

Good Evening Woo, thank you so much for all the information, it's nice to know where the roses came from etc. Whilst I was at the Rose Garden, the owner came and had a chat with me, think it was the presence of Tess that drew him toward us :doggieshmooze:

I had already picked 'The Enchantress' as you could smell the aroma as you passed it, he then told me the story on how it had obtained its name, everyone at the show had mentioned how enchanting it was, apparently he told me that they had received thousands of names and had to look at everyone, what a lovely story for a wonderful rose :)

I'm going to put them all into the ground tomorrow, I have purchased John Innes No 3 to ensure they do well. I'm not sure if I should prune Absolutely Fabulous as she looks very leggy compared to the new ones, would you advise for me to do this?
