      With my (prehistoric) D40 I suffer the CA in the centre of the reds. It also suffer poor contrast in reds. But only some - visually identical shades can produce very different results.

        Thanks. Playing with natural light/subject/background combinations can be useful when making up for lack of aperture options when natural light is limiting.
        The second photo was taken when I was looking after my niece. We messed about with her pastille set to find the best background. The main niggle is the lack of defining contrast in the right hand flower.

        Woo apologies if my post came across as presumptious .. i thought you had gone early again and used a higher ISO. In my mobile phone screen the rose is perfect. beautiful pics all around
