@HsuH my next door neighbours for the last two years have had House Martins nesting under their eaves and he has been going mad because they Twitter all day and night so disturbe his sleep plus there is poo all over their window frames and garden path which they don't like:snork:I said he should feel honoured that these little birds have flown thousands of miles to nest under his eaves and I told him they would be gone in a little while.(Didn't tell him though that a little while would be around three months while they busied themselves having several broods of Chicks)he moved house on Friday:snork:

The owner of the house with martins nesting loves the fact that the martins cohabit with his family:biggrin: and treats it as an honour the martins bestow on him:)

He doesn't mind the noise or if the windows are soiled by birds .... What bothers him is that he and his family have to step over the mess when getting in and out of the door, and people, like the postman or paper boy, have to stand on the mess or get pooed on while putting things through the letter box:mad:. He had tried to discourage martins from using the nest just above the door for 2-3 years, and it actually has worked. The martins built another nest further along, I don't think they used the one above the door last year. Here is a photo I took last year. Let's hope more nests will be added next season:)

This friendly little guy, who we call Simon, has made his home on our property. Here he is sitting on his favorite spot. Woe to any chip monk intruder who dares to enter his domain.

We now have loads of bees all round the garden. Fortunately we have a lot of plants that bees love and it's lovely to here them all over the garden. They never bother us when we're working out there as they're too busy flitting from one flower to the other.

As the Stachys is just coming into flower (appears to be one of their favourite plants) they seem to be almost forming clouds around them. One of our patches of Stachys is about 10ft in diameter and is in the veggie patch. I'm never sure whether having it there helps or hinders the pollination of the veggies.

I am surprised no one in the passed has introduced Chipmunks here, although it would be illegal.

A very good year for Great Tits Loli.:dbgrtmb:
Our Blue Tit nest box was not used in the end, the overwinter roosting Tit left in April and may have nested somewhere else.:frown:

image.jpg Found this Robins nest over at our allotments on Monday when Mr Kandy had got a days holiday and the nest was under one of my large tonne bags right next to our shed. The parent bird had gone by the time I spotted it but the eggs were still warm but sadly as the morning went on there was no sign of the adult bird and when I gently touched the eggs they were by this time cold so we can assume she had deserted the nest:sad:

This looked like a bird with a mission! He was striding along taking no notice of me at all.

He must think he's quite important walking along with his arms behind his back. :heehee:
