In work all weekend, so just able to do the watering side..

Morning cuppa was drank while checking the plants with hubby, surprised as everything seems to have a real spurt of growth, even the couple of containers that were struggling are well on their way to catching up the others..... And planned what I was going to do after hubby went to work...

Went out the allotment, only intended to spend an hour this turned in 4 hours oops, the plot next to mine still vacant, I'm pondering whether to take it over, on provision that I more in clearing it for next year rather than expecting to get it all up and running this year! think I shall email our plot secretary.... Everything is now starting to take, I've been behind with planting due to the major back garden project...

Home a cuppa on the patio, then I hit the garden

Weeded the raised flower beds (only very small weeds) then I tidied the greenhouse and put canes up for the last of the tomatoes plants, and tied the others...

Then it was deheading, and finally watering everything, which is now so much easier and quicker with having the outside tap put in.... Watering with the hosepipe I find therapeutic where as watering with the watering can a dam nuisance and very time consuming and that's with out cleaning the kitchen floor afterwards...

 

Cat destroyed my buddleja again :(

Lovely work @Dips! You already know how much I like your oh-so-cool blue and the effect of all the blue pieces when seen together is so impactful. Fab!

Today I did some weeding of the front of the house where they were starting to pop their cheeky heads up again and started digging a border under the living room window. Talk about slow progress. I look forward to the day when I can finally do some actual planting, perhaps some time in 2018 or so

 

That really looks lovely - it sets the patio and table off perfectly.

Managed to get more done today. Potted on four tomato plants and loads of cardoons. One of my lavenders died but luckily had a spare to replace it with so did that too

 

Weeding ,watering and feeding,and I was supposed to be picking the Strawberries for tea but they never made it to the table

 

Destroyed or damaged? Plants are resilient.

 

Identified a young rowan tree (seeded itself in a pot) which, although I will not keep (grows too high and wide), I have temporarily repotted and placed in a bald spot in my front garden. When it outgrows the pot I will take it down to the recycling depot, for someone to take. I did this with a young ash tree (attaching growing conditions to it) and was delighted to see it gone within a few hours!

 

Just damaged if he keeps this up though I'll only have one stem for flowering in summer. Buddleja are so brittle

Potted on some datura which are taking forever to grow
The heavy rains over the weekend seem to have done the garden good. Holes appearing in my hostas Not good, found the culprits and placed carefully onto my right foot
Tried to set up GH irrigation system for when I'm away

 

Potted on some dahlias and petunias, killed a few slugs and started my little pots project. Decided to do something colourful on a very tight budget, will post pics tomorrow.

 

My job today was to tackle some Ivy and other unwanted growth behind the garage where the runner beans are. Heres a before and after. Reckon I shall have to inflict some chemical warfare on that ivy once the runner beans have finished.
