See, that's the thing about losing, always sweeter when the moment of victory comes. Not sure that I'd want to be winning all the time?

I'd be happy to be winning all the time with the entertainment currently being dished up. That was the thing about KP - love him or hate him when he had his eye in he was on a different level. Such a shame that he was so mentally fragile/immature - some days when he stepped up to the crease he looked scared of his own shadow but other days he would laugh off the efforts of great bowlers such as Brett Lee (ultra fast) or Shane Warne.

Like Pete I look at the test scores , but find it difficult to get more interested in the game. Their playing consistency is a roller coaster ,up and down though . At least the England football team are consistent , even if its bloomin' awful !

A very good day's entertainment at The Oval yesterday. Plenty of action, a good sunset on a warm sultry evening, the obligatory rain delay for a brief shower and even a random pigeon. It's what cricket's all about. :)

What I found particularly pleasing was the way England were not cowed by the prospect of such a huge target and really went for it from the start. Had it not been for the late rain interruption, they could well have pulled off a surprise win.

I think they might have pulled it off, if it wasn't for the rain! I would of been a monumental effort considering there previous form and only 2 other team have chased higher scores

The last ODI was lost to me (as well as to the England team) as I was working but todays has been a stunner!
                • A record run chase for England in ODI (and the third highest ever in all matches)
                • The win was achieved with six overs to spare and seven wickets in hand
                • Two players scored a century, another scored a fifty, and boundaries where two a penny (including eleven sixes).
                • They passed their previous highest run total for a five match ODI series of 1399 runs today with another match left to play
It's still early days but New Zealand are no mugs so this team is starting to look as if it may be the real deal :hapydancsmil:

                      Ah well...................
One day matches have to have a result one way or t'other (unless it genuinely is a draw). So New Zealand batted their fifty overs and then it rained. By the time play resumed it meant that England had time for just 26 overs at the wicket so the Duckworth Lewis formula came up with a target of 192 for England to chase down.
They were making hard work of it but the new attacking style produces heroes and zeroes - thankfully Bairstow (:love30:) came along and saved the match :hapydancsmil:
