Has anyone any experience of growing this vine? I've seen one around the corner and it looks like this:

But so far my one looks like this:

With no visible signs of veination of the kind or velvety look of the the one I've seen. I wondered if the garden centre has mislabled it or it grows into its final look when older? Both my one and the one down the road are growing in the same shady conditions.

I currently have Parthenocissus Quinquefolia and have had Henryana (nicer) in another garden. I'm not 100 % certain but pretty sure you have been sold Quinquefolia not Henryana. The Henryana was quite different to Quinquefolia when I bought it. It's also quite a bit more expensive!. I'd take a few leaves of what you have back to the garden centre and query that's it's what the label says it is!

Thanks silu, I will do that. It will quite annoying if this is the case as I'm relying on it to cover a fence this summer. The one I have is growing quite strongly already :-/ I think you are right though, there is not even the sligtest sign of variegation.

I just tried something, I nabbed a leaf from the one down the road for comparison. Although it doesn't have the colouring yet, the leaf shape and structure is exactly the same, so I think it is henryana, just hasn't coloured up yet for some reason.
